So you have decided to hot stamp your plastic containers and don’t know what to do next. Well we are here to help! In this blog we will walk you through the ordering process for Hot Stamping on our plastic containers and hopefully answer all of your questions so you can have an enjoyable ordering experience.
After making the decision to have your containers hot stamped you need to decide which container you want. Hot stamping is available on select sizes of our round LA Cons, LA Vials, Nu Cons, or our square Flex-A-Top hinged lid container lines. A full list of the container sizes can be found on our website and our sales team can offer advise on all container decisions. Please note that a minimum order for hot stamping is approximately 1000 pieces.
After deciding on your container, the next thing to focus on is your company’s artwork. We recommend creating an Illustrator or Photoshop file with a minimum 600dpi in vector format and then sending it off to a member of our sales team. For other accepted files types and instructions please visit our website.
Artwork must be the right size in comparison to the size of the plastic container you want as well. A sizing spec sheet can be found on our website that lays out the exact dimensions for your artwork based on the container diameter you have selected. Along with this we recommend that any font on the artwork be a thicker San Serif style font, as the thinner Serif fonts are more difficult to print.
The next step is color choice. Our small plastic containers are offered in dozens of different color options, these include opaque, neon and transparent colors. Our hot stamp foils are also offered in a wide variety of options as well. These include either metallic or non-metallic color choices.
Your container and foil color choice are very important, as certain color combos are not recommended. An example of this would be if you have a dark color container with non-metallic light colored foil, the colors will bleed together and will not turn out as desired. Along with this, some foils have printing issues if artwork or container choice is too large. To ensure your color choices will get you the best looking product possible, please contact your representative.
After all artwork, container and color decisions have been made and your artwork is sent off to us, we create an electronic black and white proof of what the finished product will look like. This proof is then sent back to you for your signed approval. Customers should be sure they are satisfied with the proof as no refunds or returns will be accepted after proof is approved.
With your proof approved we are on to our favorite step, Purchasing! All customers are required to pay for: Containers, Hot Stamping and plates. A one time plate fee is added to those orders using a new art design and will be re applied every time a new art design is made. Along with this, first time customers must pay 50 percent down and the remaining balance when the order is complete.
And with that you have done it!!! Your order is now submitted and all you have to do is wait for your beautiful custom printed containers to be delivered! From start of production these orders usually take 1-2 weeks to be shipped and received. Production time could be longer depending on order quantity and other factors.
One should note hot stamping is not recommended for customers with very large and detailed artwork, as detail could be lost in the printing process. If either of these issues are applicable to you we recommend ordering labels for your containers instead.
Hot stamped containers are great for many industries including: Cosmetics, Industrial, Arts and Crafts, and Dental, just to name a few. For all spec sheets and additional information please visit our website HERE or contact us directly.
