ABS-BAS<\/a> material from LA Container is a high quality electrostatic dissipative (ESD) inhibiting material used to make a select number of our plastic containers. ESD inhibiting materials are used to make plastic containers that are made for sensitive electronic environments. These containers prevent the flow of static electricity from you to the contents of the container. Without these containers sensitive electronics can be destroyed while explosives like gunpowder could be ignited. To prevent a potentially fatal disaster in your workplace LA Container has created our ABS-BAS containers<\/a> to help keep you safe.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

ABS or Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, whew, you try saying that 3 times, is a common thermoplastic polymer that is made by polymerizing styrene and acrylonitrile in the presence of poly-butadiene. This combination makes this plastic much stronger than other similar plastics and is great for gamma radiation.<\/p>\n

When mixed with our blue anti-static material we create a very sturdy, rigid and transparent ESD inhibiting material. This material is a permanent anti-static that is long term and will not leach out over time and is REACH, RoHS and FDA compliant. These qualities make these containers great for being re-used multiple times.<\/p>\n

\"LA<\/a>More technically our ABS-BAS material<\/a> has a surface resistivity of 108<\/sup> to 1010<\/sup> ohms per square and has a static decay rate of 5 KillaVolts to 50 Volts in 200 nanoseconds.<\/p>\n

Available in this material is our LA Boxx hinged lid container line<\/a>. This ESD line comes in 5 different sizes in a transparent blue color for easy content viewing. The unique part about these small plastic containers is their sturdy hinged lid design, which keeps contents from being spilled while also keeping out dust and other containments. Comparably LA Boxx is a much more rigid and sturdy container option compared to other BAS polypropylene containers<\/a>.<\/p>\n
