Material Information
Polypropylene
Our USP class VI polypropylene is 100% virgin medical, lab and food grade and is even autoclave sterilizable. This material is also BPA, Lead and heavy metal free, phthalates safe and is REACH, RoHS, DMF and FDA compliant. With this our polypropylene containers contain no animal derived products or any chemicals or components known to cause cancer or other issues at levels that would subject to California Prop 65. Plastic containers made from our polypropylene plastic are great for the food, industrial and medial industries, amongst many others.
Polypropylene containers from Lacontainer are proudly made in the USA and are recyclable. Certifications, Regulatory Data Sheets, MSDS, and Drug Master File assistance is available upon request as we ensure and guarantee strict Material Lot Number traceability with each plastic container we produce.
Polyethylene
The polyethylene used in our small plastic containers is either high density, low density or a combination of the two. We use this mixture to ensure that our containers have the perfect fit and feel every time. This plastic is REACH, RoHS, DMF and FDA compliant and does not contain any chemicals or components known to cause cancer or other issues at levels that would subject to California Prop 65. Along with these certifications our polyethylene is not made with any animal derived materials and is BPA free, Lead Free, phthalates safe and as always containers made with this plastic are made in the USA. Our Polyethylene plastic containers are safe and ideal for many industries including food packaging, medical and lab containers, pharmaceutical packaging and toy packaging.
Gamma Sterilizable
The Gamma Sterilizable material used at LA Container is a USP Class VI, highly clarified random copolymer resin designed specifically for the manufacturing of medical devices suitable for sterilization by high-energy radiation. In addition to being radiation sterilizable, containers made with this material are E-beam sterilizable and Ethylene Oxide sterilizable. This sturdy polypropylene material has controlled rheology to maintain its structure long-term. Radiation resistant polypropylene is compliant with many industry and medical standards including RoHS restrictions on the inclusion of heavy metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and hexavalent chromium. This material is REACH compliant and also does not contain flame-retardants like PBB, PBDE, or benzofurans. PP-Gamma material is also compliant with FDA regulation 21 CFR 177.1520, making it safe for use with food products. No animal products are used to create this polymer.
Anti Static Pink Polypropylene
The Pink Anti-Static material makes a high quality triboelectric charge inhibiting polypropylene container that has a surface resistivity of 1×1010 to 9.9×1012 ohm/sq. and offers a high surface resistance to enable minimal anti static charging of products contained within. With this, Pink anti-static containers are REACH, RoHS & FDA compliant, BPA free, and Lead free. Our ASP containers are great for shipping and transporting electrically sensitive items.
Blue Static Dissipative Polypropylene
Blue Static Dissipative (BAS) Material is a permanent anti-static material, meaning the material will not “Leach out” or degrade over time. This makes this material great for the long-term storage or transportation of sensitive electronic equipment, semi conductors or lab equipment that can be damaged from the smallest of electronic shocks. This BAS Material is REACH, RoHS and FDA compliant and has no latex or dry rubber added to the material from the manufacturer. More technically, containers made from this material have a surface resistivity of 1×108 to 9.9×109 ohm/sq., with a static decay rate of 5kV to 50V in < 0.50 seconds. Our BAS containers come in a translucent blue color that gives it an easily recognizable appearance. BAS containers are ideal for use with sensitive electronic components, circuits, conductors or any other sensitive electronic parts.
Conductive Anti Static Polypropylene
Conductive Anti-Static (CAS) plastic containers, made with a specialized polypropylene material, have a surface resistivity of < 1×106 ohm/sq , with a static decay rate of charges on conductive vials between 5kV to 50V in < 2.00 seconds. In addition to being compliant with Federal Test Standard 101C Method 4046.1 for resistivity, this CAS material is REACH and RoHS compliant and has no latex or dry rubber added to the material from the manufacturer. CAS is achieved through the addition of carbon fiber or carbon powder to the polymers, creating a distinct opaque black appearance. Our CAS containers are ideal for uses with pyrotechnics and other explosive industries.
Blue Static Dissipative ABS
To make our rigid ABS-BAS LABoxx plastic containers we take a combination of ABS plastic and our blue static dissipative polypropylene. This combination creates a strong, rigid, plastic box with a unique ball hinged lid design. The ABS, or Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, is a common thermoplastic polymer that is made by polymerizing styrene and acrylonitrile in the presence of poly-butadiene. This combination makes this plastic much stronger than other similar plastic. We add this material to our BAS plastic which gives these rigid boxes a surface resistivity of 1×1010 to 1×1012 ohm/sq. and have a static decay rate from 5kV to 50V in < 2.00 seconds. Additionally these transparent blue containers are great for storing small electrical parts and circuit boards that are static sensitive.
Conductive Anti Static ABS
ABS, or Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, is a common thermoplastic polymer that is made by polymerizing styrene and acrylonitrile in the presence of poly-butadiene. This combination makes this plastic much stronger than other similar plastics. Alone, ABS does not help in ESD environments; this is why our ABS-CAS LABoxx line is made with a combination of ABS and CAS Conductive plastics. This combination creates a sturdy, hinged lid, opaque black plastic box that is great for use in conductive settings. These boxes have a surface resistivity of < 1×106 ohm/sq., with a static decay rate of charges on conductive vials of 5kV to 50V in < 2.00 seconds.
Neutron Activation Analysis
LAContainer offers a specialized line of containers made for neutron activation analysis testing. These containers are manufactured with a specialized NAA polyethylene homopolymer that features good impact strength. The design of these plastic vials includes thicker walls that provide good tensile strength to protect samples during transport and activation. With such small samples needed for accurate results, even these small NAA containers will be useful for most applications.
